About Dr Giblin

Dr. Giblin graduated Dentistry from Sydney University with Honours in 2004. In 2007, after a stint in private practice near Coffs Harbour, Dr. Giblin was accepted into a 3-year Advanced Prosthodontics Residency at the University Of Texas Health Science Centre in San Antonio, regarded as the top program in the USA. In his time there, Dr. Giblin gained a broad education in all aspects of dentistry, including implant, fixed and removable prosthodontics as well as sleep dentistry, occlusion and TMD.

Since returning, Dr. Giblin has worked in several locations, before setting up a practice in Mona Vale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and in Bathurst in NSW’s Central West region.

Locations

Dr Giblin has a focus on Dental Implants, being trained not only as a Specialist Prosthodontist, but also in the surgical side of placing implants, such as complex bone and soft tissue grafting procedures, including sinus augmentations.

As a Prosthodontist, a Specialist in Restorative and Reconstructive Dentistry, Dr Giblin is also highly skilled in rehabilitating patient’s mouths using Crowns, Bridges, Onlays and Veneers. In fact, a Prosthodontist is the only specialist qualified in these cases, and are the only Specialty that could claim to be a “Cosmetic Dentist”.

The main difference with a Prosthodontist compared to a General Dentist is the approach to the case. Dr Giblin takes a very comprehensive approach to Treatment Planning and patient care and takes into account not only the presenting complaint, but all aspects of the patients' situation- from looking at the surrounding teeth, to investigating how the patient came to be in their situation. They also look to the future and how a patient will manage their oral health into the future. This is done in conjunction with the patient’s regular dentist, or other dentists Dr Giblin works with.

Dr Giblin accepts referrals from other dentists to help manage their patients, or patients can book directly (without a referral) for a consultation or second opinion.
